Accessing Services
Our services
are easily accessible to youth and families. All it takes
is a phone call or email
to our head office (listed below). We ask for some background information
such the youth or family's current situation and immediate needs.
Next, we support the family in choosing the most suitable Venture
Academy program and location. And that's it. We pride ourselves
in our responsiveness to our clients' needs and can have
a client admitted into Venture Academy usually within the week. Admission
details (dates, meetings, transportation, etc.) will be arranged
and confirmed on an individual basis.
Step 1. Completing the Screening Assessment
Venture Academy's Screening Assessment is a comprehensive tool
that provides a format for assessing the applicant's strengths,
needs, preferences, interests and abilities.
This information is the basis on which Venture Academy will establish
goals, develop plans on how to achieve the identified goals,
and determine overall service objectives and a plan of care
with the applicant. This planning and development stage results
in a proposed Individual Service Plan that is sent to the applicant
and his or her parents for review. The Individual Service Plan guides
Venture Academy's therapeutic approach and intervention methods
with the youth should he or she become enrolled in the program.
All submitted information is confidential.
Step 2. Service Plan Agreement
Once the proposed Individual Service Plan has been reviewed and
agreed upon,
Venture Academy will accept the applicant into the program. Admission
details (dates, meetings, transportation, etc.) will be arranged
and confirmed on an individual basis.
Rolling Admission
Venture Academy understands the necessity of our services and the
potential urgency of our clients' needs. We welcome admissions
at any time and accommodate our clients' requests at the earliest
possible date.
Crisis Admission
There may be times in the lives of families when treatment services
are needed immediately. In these situations Venture Academy
can help families by accommodating a client admission usually within
24 hours.
Chaperone Service
Travel worries can be eliminated by the use of Venture Academy's
client pick-up and chaperone service. An assigned Youth counsellor
or Program Coordinator will fly or drive to the family's home (no
matter where the location) in order to accompany the youth in need
of our services to the designated residential setting. One-on-one
travel time has proven to be an excellent way to build a therapeutic
relationship. Chaperone Service is also available for entrance to
our Respite Services
Interest Survey
Venture Academy has provided an on line Interest
Survey that youth may fill out prior to receiving the Screening
Assessment. The completed survey describes some of the applicant's
personality traits and behavioural history. No identifying information
required.
The completed survey will provide Venture Academy with some background
information regarding the individual should he or she become enrolled
in the program. Our survey also serves as an opportunity for
self-discovery, allowing the individual an opportunity to re-think
themselves and their experiences in a way he or she may not have
done for some time.
