Position - Drug and Alcohol Counsellor
The Counsellor will provide effective assessment, counselling, education,
support, and treatment services for youth demonstrating difficulties
in relation to substance abuse. The Counsellor will support referred
youth to reduce the harm associated with substance abuse, help the
youth work towards the elimination of substance abuse and support
youth in developing healthy lifestyles which do not include reliance
on drugs or alcohol.
Qualifications
Candidates for this position will possess sufficient training and
experience to perform all responsibilities of the job description.

a senior practitioner in the child and youth care field, consisting
of a minimum of one of the following:
· BA - CYC and 2 years related experience.

Position - Youth Counsellor
The Counsellor will provide skilled intervention and treatment services
to youth admitted to Venture Academy. The Counsellor will provide
counselling and support youth in addressing factors contributing
to their placement, and assistance in implimenting an integrated
case management plan. The Counsellor will support youth in developing
healthy lifestyles and appropriate behaviours.

Position - Independent Living Counsellor
The Counsellor will provide community rehabilitation and support
services; for youth and young adults admitted into the Independent
Living Program. The Counsellor will provide individual support to
youth to live independently.

The Parent-Counsellor will provide for the physical care and emotional
nurturing of residents of the program. The Parent-Counsellor will

behaviours. The Parent-Counsellor will co-operate with the staff
team in implementing the array of services provided to the youth
served by the program.

Position - Program Co-ordinator (Small Team
Leader)
The Program Co-ordinator will provide leadership to the staff team
within the identified catchment area, and support to the Program
Director, in daily operations and in achieving the program objectives.
The Co-ordinator will demonstrate independence and competence in
skilled intervention and supervision of all program residents. The
Co-ordinator will provide collaborative leadership with the staff
team, and implement the direction of the Program Director, in co-ordinating
the array of program services and activities to the youth and families
served by the program. The Co-ordinator will provide consultation
and supervision to the staff team in dealing with crisis or safety
issues, and ensure the safety of residents and staff. The Co-ordinator
is a member of the agency management team, and provides staff supervision
in the absence of the Program Director.
Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated a high degree of competence as
a front-line CYCC senior practitioner, within a residential treatment
program for adolescents. Program Supervisor/Staff leadership experience
is preferred. Minimum combination training and experience:
· BA - CYC and 2 years related experience

· CYC Certificate or equivalent and 5 years related experience

Position - Liaison Agent
The Liaison Agent will provide skilled implementation of our marketing
strategy and apply effective promotional techniques in order to
inform the public, professionals and potential clients about Venture
Academy services and programs. Contacts will be made with youth,
families and an array of national and international community professionals.
