Many parents have tried local counselling for their child, but despite the supports in place, it wasn’t enough. In reality, they need a 24-hour residential environment with a multidisciplinary team that can attend to the behavioural, emotional, and educational needs of their child.
Many parents choose our residential program because their child needs to be in a safe environment with the proper educational and behavioural supports in place. They are looking for a continuum of clinically comprehensive services all operating seamlessly together instead of a disjointed patchwork of services.
Typically, parents have done all they can in their home community, but it’s still not working. They know it can be beneficial to access services away from their local community and away from negative influences that surround them. Youth need to break free from their negatively entrenched behavioural patterns and many stand little chance of doing so if they remain in their current environment. The draw of peers is just too great.
Venture Academy offers an opportunity at all three of our locations for a fresh start and a chance for youth to break free from unhealthy and life-limiting behavioural patterns.
Venture Academy offers support to clients in various communities through a network of affiliated therapists and psychologists. Parents may benefit from having access to a local support while their child is in treatment or with follow up and aftercare. Often families are connected with a local counselor prior to choosing our program. We are happy to work with and include that clinician in our process.
