Operations Notification and Gratitude Letter

2001 – 2026: Celebrating 25 Years

Canada’s first live-in private pay adolescent mental health residential treatment program, opened, thrived, served families in need and has now wound down it’s operations.

After 25 meaningful years of supporting youth and families across Canada, Venture Academy has concluded its services. This decision was evaluated over several years of careful consideration of the changing landscape of therapeutic and educational supports, shifting lenses of the adolescent mental health landscape and changes within our nation’s school systems. This is not a failure but rather a full circle story of success. Our boutique clinical assessment, treatment and educational support programs for teens uniquely thrived. We had our place and space in the Canadian adolescent mental health and education landscape. Our founding vision and mission of direct access services has been fulfilled and the impact of the work we have shared together will continue to resonate.

From the beginning, it has been our privilege and honour to walk alongside families during some of their most challenging and transformative moments. We have witnessed courage, resilience, and healing in countless forms. Being invited into your lives and trusted to help navigate difficult times, restore hope, and support meaningful change, has been one of the greatest opportunities imaginable. We hold that trust with immense gratitude.

To the families who engaged with us, thank you for your openness, your perseverance, and your willingness to partner with us in the work of growth and healing. Your commitment to your children and to the therapeutic and healing process inspired us every day. The relationships built and the progress achieved together will remain at the heart of Venture Academy’s legacy.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the many professional referral sources, community collaborators, and partner organizations who believed in our mission and entrusted us with the care of the young people they serve. Your collaboration strengthened our work and expanded our ability to make a difference.

And to our dedicated frontline staff, educators, clinical therapists, and management, thank you for your unwavering commitment. Your compassion, professionalism, and belief in the potential of every young person shaped the culture and success of Venture Academy. The work you carried out, often quietly and tirelessly, changed lives.

To our network of psychologists who’s offices conducted the clinical psychological and psycho-educational assessments providing parents and referral sources a solid understanding of the challenges each youth faced, and providing recommendations which were foundational to developing a comprehensive treatment and educational plan; we thank you your support and foundational relationships.

As we close this chapter, we do so with deep gratitude for everyone who has been part of the Venture Academy community. The stories, the breakthroughs, the shared challenges, and the moments of healing will continue to live on in the lives of the families and young people we have been privileged to serve.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.

We wish you the very best.
