Current Difficulties

Venture Academy provides supervised residential placements, counselling and support services for struggling youth and young adults over 18 who may be experiencing difficulties managing their lives at home, at school, at work, or in the community.

Venture Academy serves young adults who may have a history of:

  • Family difficulties
  • School failure or incompletion
  • Drug or alcohol use
  • Gaming and online behaviour
  • Negative peers
  • Depression, anxiety
  • Low motivation
  • Lack of confidence or success
  • Employment difficulties
  • Residency issues

Clients accessing the program may be demonstrating behavioural challenges and experiencing emotional difficulties. These barriers prevent the client from healthy functioning in everyday life causing disruptions in school, employment, family life, and social relationships.

Historical Concerns

Possible emotional difficulties, mental health issues, and clinically diagnosed disorders, may include: low self-esteem, depression, poor self-concept, Attention Deficit Disorder, etc.

Parents’ Concern?

Parents or the young adult themselves may be concerned or apprehensive about an impending move away from home. They may wish to access a support network in order to facilitate and ensure a smooth transition into adulthood. Parents may also be concerned about their son or daughter’s functioning in their current residence.
